Wondering what's CVD and how can it effect you?

CVD is a class of diseases that affect the heart or blood vessels (veins and arteries), most common are heart attack and stroke but there are many others.

They can be caused by a combination of socio-economic, behavioural, and environmental risk factors, including high blood pressure, unhealthy diet, high cholesterol, diabetes, air pollution, obesity, tobacco use, kidney disease, physical inactivity, harmful use of alcohol and stress. Family history, ethnic background, sex, and age can also affect a person’s risk of cardiovascular disease.

If you want to learn more about Cardiovascular disease, its symptoms and treatment you can check out the World Heart Federation. You can also chose to get involved and raise awareness in your business in multiple ways. There are so many ways to #UseHeart.

With World Heart Day approaching, there's no better time to assess and support your workforce’s heart health, with our onsite health checks. An onsite health check is conducted by a qualified professional and provides a snapshot of an employee's health across a range of key areas with the aim of educating participants on how to address and manage identified health risks such as type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and more.

If you’d like to book health checks for your business contact us at hello@healthatwork.net.au or 1300 245 203
