Health Checks and Health Risk Assessments (HRAs) play an important role in an integrated health and wellbeing program, to foster positive, sustainable behavioural change for a healthier, more productive workplace.

Our health checks encourage employees to take a proactive approach to their health and lifestyle, delivering immeasurable benefits for them personally and your business.

Health at Work offers a range of health check programs including onsite, online, voucher & reimbursement programs and telehealth consultations to suit all your business needs. These services can be run independently or as hybrid-combinations, depending on your requirements.

Assess and support your workforce’s physical health and mental wellbeing, with our comprehensive online health checks.

An online health check is a Health Risk Assessment (HRA) of an employee’s health across a range of areas of including:

  • Personal, family and medical history
  • Height, weight, body mass index(BMI)
  • Type 2 Diabetes and Cardiovascular Disease (heart disease)
  • Lifestyle related factors such as: nutrition, physical activity, sleep, smoking and alcohol consumption
  • Mental Health: depression, anxiety, and stress levels.

The health check can be completed on any device, at any time and takes about 15 minutes. Upon completion employees receive:

  • Results report with identified health risks
  • Recommendations for the management of both physical health and mental wellbeing
  • Access to a great range of educational resources to encourage lasting behavioural change
  • Any employee who records high risk result for Cardiovascular Disease or Diabetes will be referred to their GP for follow up
  • Any employee who records a high risk result from the DASS21 - mental health - will receive a follow up call from our team and referred on as required.

Your business will also be provided with a Health Risk Profile report that is de-identified, includes all employee’s health check results – medical, lifestyle factors and mental health and recommendations to enable the development of tailored health initiatives to drive employee and business improvements.

If multiple assessments are completed over time, e.g. year on year - comparative graphs are available from both a company-wide perspective and through employee’s health profiles showing any changes in health status between the assessments.

Online Health Check + Telehealth Consultation

Online health checks can be complemented by telehealth consultations. These one-on-one appointments with a qualified practitioner, enable employees to discuss results and receive specific advice and coaching to make improvements to their health and wellbeing challenges.

Assess and support your workforce’s physical health and mental wellbeing, with our fully comprehensive, onsite health checks.

An onsite health check is conducted by a qualified professional and provides a snapshot of an employee's health across a range of key areas with the aim of educating participants on how to address and manage identified health risks such as type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, nutrition and wellbeing.

Health at Work offers two types of onsite health check programs – with or without a skin check – and can be tailored to your specific business needs.

Some employees may be at higher risk of certain health issues due to a range of factors such as family and personal medical history and lifestyle factors. To ascertain their health risk level, prior to their appointment, employees are asked to complete a questionnaire which will be discussed with the professional throughout the health check.

Both health checks include health coaching, where our professional will discuss any areas of concern or where the employee’s results fall outside the normal health parameters. Participants who record results outside of the normal health parameters They will also be referred onto their GP for a follow up appointment.

Following their appointment, employees can immediately access online:

  • Results - personal health assessment booklet they can download and print
  • Medical referral (if applicable)
  • Health Resource Portal which contains great resources to educate and support employees making healthy lifestyle changes, to either maintain or improve their health and wellbeing moving forward.

Reporting

On program completion, your company will receive a de-identified company Health Risk Profile report. The report will include collated employee health check results, giving you the top three health & lifestyle risk factors faced by your workforce, and includes recommendations to enable the development of tailored health initiatives to support employees making sustainable change to reduce their health risks or maintain their current health.

If multiple assessments are completed over time, e.g. year on year - comparative graphs are available from both a company-wide perspective and through the employee’s health profiles, showing any changes in their health status between the assessments.

The report also includes:

  • the number of bookings offered, appointments made, appointments conducted
  • the number of referrals issued (per health risk)
  • results can be broken down by location, department, employee type and age

What else you need to know

  • Employee data is securely stored
  • During your program, you will receive secure portal login access to view program status at your convenience, in real-time, including:
    • demographic data
    • number of screenings completed
    • skin cancer referral types issued (due to confidentiality and to ensure results are remained de-identified, you will not receive this access if uptake is below 30 participants)
  • All health check bookings are supported by a confirmation email, calendar invite and SMS reminder
  • You can expect an approximate employee uptake of between 40-65%

Australians suffer the highest rate of skin cancer in the world. Each year around 1,200 Australians die from this almost totally preventable disease.

Preventative measures and early detection are critical to reduce the number of people affected by skin cancer and Health at Work can support your company with both. Our awareness and education programs promote prevention, and skin check services enable detection.

Key skin-check details:

  • Full body screening and/or areas requested at the discretion of the employee, conducted in a private room onsite
  • Expertly performed by a Dermatscopist Skin Specialist Nurse using a Derma-Scope.
  • Employees receive results immediately – personalised online report with skin mapping for annual comparison
  • Referral to seek further medical advice for any abnormalities identified (Basal Cell Carcinoma, Squamous Cell Carcinoma or Melanoma- the most dangerous form of skin cancer)

Everyone can develop skin-cancer; however, some people may be at higher risk due to a range of factors. Prior to their appointment, employees are asked to complete a short questionnaire to ascertain their risk level. Following their appointment, employees can immediately access online:

  • Results - a personal skin check assessment booklet that they can download and print
  • Medical referral (if applicable)
  • Skin mapping history- skin lesions/mole images are saved and available for year-on-year comparisons
  • Sun and skin educational resource portal that includes information flyers, educational video and links to important websites for more information.
